Caption For Artwork (Description About Artwork): As surrealism dances across the paper, juxtaposing the concept of climate change (global warming) and captivity, a lasting impression reveals itself. The life residing on our home is melting away and the climatic torture we ignited on our planet is metaphorically imprisoning Mother Earth. This watercolor on paper painting showcases this when the melting Earth is trapped in the glass vial, as the flames display the heat and the severe global warming. Symbolising the jailing of life, the chain, lock and handcuffs surround the air-tight vial, the trap. These contribute to the concept of captivity and relate them with the painful "prison" - the traumatic global warming - the world is bound to. The grey background mirrors the pollution the world is facing, as well as creating a gloomy sense to the viewer. As the ashes from the flame fly, it continues to remind humanity of the losses and destruction caused every second Earth lies amidst its crucible, Climate Change. "Earth in the Climate Crucible" by Samvritha Sudhakar aims to spark a change as it spreads awareness about the devastating reality.
